4-21-13 Weston comes back into rescue, due to nervous anxiety at his Detroit home. Weston came back barking all the while the adopters were here. Yet the minute they left the driveway, he stopped the barking, shook off and laid down. My husband and I both took him for a walk, where we met 3 different cars, which according to the adopters he would "get nervous" and lunge at cars, but today he sat and watched without breaking the sit. He was rewarded with a treat which he willing took without stress. My impression is that Weston was just mirroring what nervous anxiety he felt from the adopters.
1-7-13 Weston has a pending adoption.
11-12-12 Weston Mac comes into rescue from a Detroit area Humane Society. He was aged around 8 months old. (Yet, I think he is a bit older than that.) He spent time in the shelter office, so that I could get a good temperament evaluation on him. He walks well on the leash according to the staff and has been friendly. He may have a moment of shyness and wondering what might happen next, but he is easily worked through it. He has been allowed to jump up on people, but we will work on that when he settles in and we have some trust and confidence showing. When he is afraid he will pee or poop rather than lashing out, which is a good choice. He is dog friendly, even with other males. He likes to chase the toys too.
