11-3-13 Daisy Duke has a pending adoption, an addition to Red Ace's Family.
8-28-13 Daisy Duke is still a lot like she was 5 plus years ago. She was surrendered due to her "picking on" the resident ACD male. (Also adopted from here, 6 years ago) Daisy Duke is now 7 years old, and this makes her a senior ACD. (Her teeth look it too) Daisy is a few pounds over weight and has long nails, and is now on a daily exercise routine. She walks very well on the leash, she likes cats, and likes her people. She goes into her crate upon request (over night) and stays quiet. She is in a play group with Napoleon full-time, adding Tupper and Jesabelle part-time. Daisy Duke has acted like a little lady when interacting with the 3 other ACD's in her play group. She gives good eye contact, and we see a glimpse of a white fearful eye, but it quickly is replaced with "I understand". I see an ACD that should have had a bit more socializing opportunities, yet is not as bad as what I was told she was. The adopter was told her story, and the need to keep her social, as you can see by her previous bio.
8-24-13 Rescue received a call today, where the owner is surrendering Daisy Duke back on Monday.
Daisy is now named Kylee and shares her pack with brother Tuffy.
10-9-07 Daisy came into rescue because she had too much energy for the family she was with. She was not spayed or trained, and is trying to figure out why she can't have her own way anymore. The vet also commented that she seems untrained and did not do well when they tried to restrain her, she cried and tried to get away. When I pick her up, she also cries. Daisy seems afraid of the other dogs, so that tells us that she has not had much socialization either. She may have an almost grown up body, but she is a puppy mentally.
Update: Daisy Duke seems more confident around the "pack" and is improving. This girl has the most excellent focus of any of the young dogs here. She really likes to show off that she knows how to roll over, like when I'm cleaning up the yard she rolls right over the shovel. Very funny girl.
