10-13-13 Florence nka Ginger received her HW treatment, and now has a forever home.
9-20-13 A family that has lost their red heeler male would like to adopt Florence after her heart worm treatment. Miss Flo will be fostered by them until her second treatment in 30 days, when we will let her be "officially" adopted. She took home 6 bags of good food, and some Nupro Supplement, and now the added ingredient of "love" will help her heal. (Both mind and body.) 9-12-13 Heart Worm Treatment started with an injection today and an injection tomorrow. Miss Flo will require 30 days of "rest" while the treatment "kills" the adult heart worms. 8-23-13 Florence comes into rescue, needing treatment for Heart Worms. Florence means "blossoming".... The little red girl was brought into the shelter because her owner was taken to the hospital and is apparently gravely ill. The dog was tied outside. No one had called or inquired about her. She is thin and her coat is in bad shape. She is very timid, but will warm up and crawl in your lap, craving attention. She likes treats / food too. She came down with an URI, is on antibiotics, and was spayed on 8-20-13. She will remain on the antibiotics, as part of her HW pre-treatment.
