9-29-13 Pecan Sandie nka Peca has a pending adoption!
Her Lupine Collar came back with her, still looking brand new, and will go with her at adoption.
8-27-13 Pecan Sandie returns to rescue through no fault of her own, since the resident dog would not accept her, according to the adopter. Pecan however, loves other dogs & immediately upon returning she invited play with our resident male ACD. She is respectful but not intimidated by our resident dominate female ACD. We are seeing a happy young ACD but will need to re-evaluate her for a minimum of 2-3 weeks, for her sake.
Pecan Sandie new to rescue on 9-29-12. Pecan Sandie's owner surrender form says she was born in July 2011 on a farm. She was purchased as a puppy, by a family to help them work their goats. We were told she chases cars, barks, digs, and is male dog & food aggressive. Pecan Sandie is crate trained, knows basic commands, is good on a leash, & was raised with many children from toddler to teenager. We are finding a dog friendly, people friendly young female who is enjoying playing with our male ACD's, since their style of play is the same. She is smaller and very agile. We appreciate her family bringing her to rescue where she will be spayed this coming week.
Update 10-25-12: Pecan Sandie has been in foster care for nearly a month. We've had her at many parks around moving vehicles and she's receptive to sitting and watching vehicles go by on a loose leash, she lives with 3 male ACD's that she loves to play with, she digs only in the sand box, & is learning demand barking is not tolerated. Shes does try to resource guard high value items so those items are only offered in her crate. Pecan Sandie is a people pleaser and is very willing to comply to rules. She's fully vetted and ready to meet her forever family! ACD experience is required for her adoption.
