7-27-13 Muffin has a pending adoption, and will be heading back to her new NY home in the morning. Some of the test results have come in and Muffin's new Mom is a vet. Both vet's have spoken, and there is some more testing and a treatment plan being figured out. Muffin's new brother Gabe, a red senior ACD, will be offering companionship and support on her way to recovery.
7-27-13 Muffin has a meet and greet with out of state adopters.
7-25-13 Muffin came back to her rescue home, as we wait for lab results.
7-22-13 Muffin is hospitalized for lab testing, biopsies, and observation to help diagnose why she has not been able to gain weight.
3-13-13 McMuffin and 3 other ACD's come into rescue after being abandoned on a Michigan property. McMuffin is a small blue female, weighing about 12 pounds, when she came into rescue. McMuffin was pretty close to giving up, and we were all very worried about her pulling through.
3-14-13 McMuffin was spayed today, vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped and dewormed. Our vet ages her around 2-3 years old. McMuffin is a scared girl, who was not even taught to walk on the leash. She had been catch poled prior to her rescue, and the leash scares her, so she bites it. She has no strength to hurt the leash, but she tries. We are starting to get her walking, and meeting people. She has even started to wag her tail a little bit. They will make good companion ACD's, but may or may not make good working dogs. The phone call asking for help said they were used for herding, but I don't see that "drive" in them at the moment. Especially Miss Muffin, she would be so afraid. Yes, another story, too bad it was info from another rescue.
