8-19-13 GarLyn has a pending adoption, along with Iaan.
7-19-13 GarLyn comes into rescue, from the UP, where she was being kept by an ACO, after being in 5 different homes. The ACO planned on re-homing her, but ended up sending her to rescue, as well. The original plan was for her to be brought down to us on July 29th/30th when our volunteer was already going by and giving rescue a chance to have a spot for her.
But, received an urgent text saying that the dog had to move ASAP. I am very thankful to Fred, for going on such short notice, and traveling from Traverse City to the UP. He ended up going all the way to the dog (which was not what I originally planned on) and bringing the dog to Remus after 9pm. It made a long day for him, still having to go back to Traverse City. AND, Fred Sponsored her, in addition to the high gas prices.
To GarLyn's credit, she loves to ride and loves people.
On the other side, here is what I think that she needs help with. She is having a bit of a "tantrum" by barking and jumping up when she is put into her crate at night or in her kennel run. We are working on this with her, and she is already improving. She is also trying to fence fighting with the dogs beside her, if they want to smell her. She has not been introduced to any of the dogs here one on one yet, until we get her listening to us. We will watch her for the right time and the right dog to introduce her to first.
